Which Players Has Real Madrid Renewed in 2026?

One major renewal is official. Real Madrid extended Vinícius Júnior’s contract to 30 June 2032 on 6 August, ending talk of a move to Arsenal.

  • Arda Güler: Fabrizio Romano reported on 10 September that Güler agreed a new deal to June 2032. On 8 October, Romano still described it as “to sign soon”, so it stays unofficial for now.
  • Thibaut Courtois and Jude Bellingham: Romano wrote on 8 October that Courtois comes “next” and that Madrid plan Bellingham contract talks.
  • Mbappé: the club has announced no extension (details below).

Mbappé News Today: What Is Happening at Real Madrid?

Mbappé scored for France in Türkiye on 25 September and hurt his left knee in the same match. Our football injury updates hub carries the full medical timeline, so we won’t repeat it here. Real Madrid posted footage of him training at Ciudad Real Madrid on 5 October:

MARCA and AS report that he trained fully with the group on Wednesday 7 October. That puts him in line to face Villarreal at the Bernabéu on Saturday 10 October at 8:00 PM WAT. Real Madrid sit fourth in LaLiga with 15 points from seven games, six behind leaders Barcelona (ESPN).

Off the pitch, the noise keeps growing:

  • Mourinho reprimand: L’Equipe says Mourinho scolded Mbappé after he posted cycling clips from Switzerland during his recovery, and that his future now looks uncertain (ESPN, 8 October).
  • Dressing room: Mundo Deportivo reported on 6 October that some teammates and club figures resent his trips away while injured.
  • Pundit view: RMC’s Daniel Riolo said, “We do not rule out his departure at the end of the season” (Goal, 7 October).
  • Ballon d’Or backing: Aurélien Tchouaméni and Raúl Asencio both said Mbappé deserves the award (via Romano, 8 October).

How Long Is Mbappé’s Contract at Real Madrid?

Mbappé signed for five seasons on 3 June 2024, so his Real Madrid contract runs to 30 June 2029, according to the club’s announcement that day. Neither the club nor the player has announced talks on a new deal. According to L’Equipe via ESPN, Madrid would not consider offers below €200m.

The “Mbappé Out” petition first went viral in May 2026, when Sky Sports counted more than 30 million signatures. Nobody has verified those totals. Sky also suggested Saudi Arabia as his likeliest destination if he ever leaves; see the Saudi Pro League table. As of 8 October, we found no credible report of a January bid for him.

Real Madrid January Transfer: Who Could Come or Go?

Expect very little January business. We found no credible report linking Madrid with a January signing, and the two names in play could only leave.

  • Rodrygo: Madrid have closed the door on a January exit, Romano reported on 8 October. He tore his ACL in March and targets a return in January 2027. Arsenal’s interest sits on hold, as our Arsenal transfer news explains.
  • Endrick: Romano says a January loan becomes possible if his minutes stay low through November. Roma, Milan and Aston Villa wanted him last summer, and Liverpool explored a permanent move.

What Are Real Madrid’s Transfer Plans for Summer 2027?

Romano says Madrid’s main 2027 target is a top centre-back, with midfield the other area to strengthen (Madrid Universal, 8 October). Konaté arrived, but Alaba left, and Éder Militão has not played this season. Sky Germany adds that Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal all watch Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarell Quansah, while Liverpool hold a €70m clause to re-sign him until June 2027.

Two names fans keep searching have gone elsewhere or gone quiet. Rodri joined Barcelona from Manchester City on 18 August, and Michael Olise drew summer links (Sports Illustrated) that never became a deal.
