This policy explains what personal data www.photonfire.com (“PhotonFire”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and what rights you have. PhotonFire is an official website operated by or on behalf of the 8xbet (8X) brand. The data controller is Photonfire (also known as 8xbet).

We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). If you visit from the European Union or UK, we also apply the core principles of the GDPR / UK GDPR.

1. The data we collect

• Usage data: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location (city/country), referring site and time on page. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 3).
• WhatsApp messages: if you contact us via the WhatsApp button, we receive your phone number, WhatsApp name and whatever you choose to send.
• Comments: name, email, website (optional), comment text, IP address and browser string (used for spam checks).
• Contact forms and email: name, email and your message.

Please never send us passwords, bank or card details, BVN, or betting account login details. We are an information website and do not need them. For account or payment issues, contact the betting operator directly.

2. Why we use your data (lawful basis)

• To run, secure and improve the site, and understand which content is useful (legitimate interest; consent where required for cookies).
• To reply to your messages and comments (your request / legitimate interest).

4. Third parties and links

Data is processed by our service providers: our web hosting provider, Google (analytics), Automattic (Jetpack), Meta/WhatsApp (WhatsApp chats) and our anti-spam tools. They act under their own privacy terms.

Our pages link to third-party sites, including the 8xbet betting platform. Although PhotonFire is operated by or for 8xbet, signing up or betting on the 8xbet platform is covered by the 8xbet platform’s own privacy policy and terms. This policy covers only your use of www.photonfire.com.

5. International transfers

Some providers store data outside Nigeria (for example in the USA or EU). Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted under the NDPA and, for EU/UK visitors, GDPR transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses used by those providers.

6. How long we keep data

• Analytics data: up to 14 months (GA4 retention setting).
• Comments: for as long as the comment is published, or until you ask us to remove it.
• WhatsApp and email messages: up to 12 months after the conversation ends, unless needed longer for a legal reason.

7. Your rights

Under the NDPA (and GDPR for EU/UK visitors) you can ask us to:

• tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct inaccurate data;
• delete your data;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• move your data to another provider (portability);
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

8. Children

This site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use HTTPS, security plugins and restricted admin access. No website is 100% secure, so please do not share sensitive information with us.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date will always show the latest version.
