Correct Football Prediction: This Week’s Picks & Results

Last updated: Thursday 8 October 2026 (WAT) • Picks for 10–14 October

A correct football prediction names a result, shows the evidence behind it and states how confident the analyst is, so you can judge the pick before kick-off and check it after full-time. This week our strongest picks are Barcelona over Getafe, Bayern Munich at Augsburg and Arsenal over Leeds. Our closest call is Liverpool vs Manchester City, where we back City or the draw.

We refresh this page every Monday with the coming week’s picks and grade the previous week’s results in public. All kick-off times are Nigeria time (WAT).

A score lean shows the scoreline we rate most likely. It lands far less often than the result pick, so treat it as colour. Our 3-0 correct score guide explains how exact-score bets settle.

How Do We Make a Correct Football Prediction?

We build every pick from five inputs, then set its confidence with fixed rules, so anyone can repeat the process and check the result.

  1. Market odds. We turn odds into implied probability (1 ÷ decimal odds) and strip out the bookmaker’s margin. Markets pool a lot of information, so we start there.
  2. Current form. We use this season’s tables and each side’s last five matches, not last season’s reputation.
  3. Injuries and suspensions. We check our football injury updates hub and fresh club news.
  4. Head-to-head. We weigh competitive meetings from the last two seasons and ignore friendlies.
  5. Schedule. Midweek European games and international breaks force rotation. This week, Champions League Matchday 2 follows the weekend.

Premier League Predictions This Week

Arsenal vs Leeds prediction: Arsenal win (High)

Arsenal won four of their first five league games, then lost 3-0 at Brighton before the break. Leeds remain unbeaten and have conceded only three goals, but Arsenal won the last five league meetings, including 4-0 at Elland Road in January. Kai Havertz (thigh) and Christos Tzolis (hamstring) look set to miss out, but Declan Rice should start and Football London expects Viktor Gyökeres to lead the line. Kick-off: Saturday, 12:30pm.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth prediction: Chelsea win (Medium)

Chelsea have scored 10 and conceded 12 in five league games. Bournemouth have not won yet, and the last three meetings all ended level (2-2, 0-0, 2-2). The Sun reports that Cole Palmer should be fit, while João Pedro (knee) faces a fitness race, Moisés Caicedo (calf) pushes to return and Jamie Gittens (ankle) misses out. Our Chelsea news hub tracks the rest. Both teams scoring fits the pattern. Kick-off: Saturday, 3:00pm.

Manchester United vs Tottenham prediction: Man United win (Medium)

United sit 12th with one league win, and Tottenham prop up the table with two points and two goals. Michael Carrick lacks Manuel Ugarte (knee) and sweats on Benjamin Šeško (shin), Patrick Dorgu (hamstring) and Noussair Mazraoui (back), but the Manchester Evening News expects Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo to play. Spurs miss Pedro Porro and Xavi Simons. United won the last league meeting 2-0, and Spurs’ lack of goals tips the balance. Kick-off: Saturday, 5:30pm.

Match of the Week: Liverpool vs Man City Prediction

Our prediction: Manchester City win or draw (Medium confidence), with 1-1 as our score lean. The market sees a coin flip: City 38%, Liverpool 36%, draw 26%.

Why not a straight City win? Anfield, Liverpool’s unbeaten run and Foden’s absence keep the hosts in it. Why not Liverpool? Their attack leans on Isak, and RotoWire notes that Lewis Koumas is their only other fit senior striker. Kick-off: Sunday 11 October, 4:30pm.

LaLiga and Bundesliga Predictions This Week

Barcelona vs Getafe prediction: Barcelona win (High)

Barcelona have won all seven LaLiga games, scoring 31; Getafe have scored four. Hansi Flick plans to rest Raphinha, scorer of 14 goals in eight games, from the start (Diario Sport, via RotoWire). Barcelona won the last two meetings 3-0 and 2-0. Kick-off: Saturday, 5:30pm.

Real Madrid vs Villarreal prediction: Real Madrid win (Medium)

AS expects Kylian Mbappé, the World Cup’s record scorer and scorer of eight of Madrid’s 20 goals this season, to start now that he has returned to full training. Madrid won the last four meetings. We drop the pick from High to Medium because José Mourinho must patch his defence: Dean Huijsen serves a suspension, Raúl Asencio has an injury and Federico Valverde (ankle) faces a late test. Kick-off: Saturday, 8:00pm.

Augsburg vs Bayern Munich prediction: Bayern win (High)

Bayern have scored 14 and conceded two in four Bundesliga games. Augsburg won 2-1 in Munich in January, but Bayern won the other four of the last five meetings. Jamal Musiala (thigh) still trains alone, and Augsburg must replace defender Noahkai Banks (knee). Kick-off: Saturday, 2:30pm.

Champions League Predictions This Week

See our Champions League 2026/27 table for the standings before Matchday 2.

Atlético Madrid vs Man United prediction: Atlético win (Low)

Atlético lost 2-1 at Liverpool on Matchday 1, then won three straight LaLiga games, including 2-1 against Real Madrid. United beat Sabah 4-0, but their injury list travels to Madrid. Atlético knocked United out of the 2021/22 round of 16. The market gives Atlético only 43%, so the pick stays Low. Kick-off: Tuesday 13 October, 8:00pm.

Man City vs PSG prediction: Man City win (Low)

City won 2-0 at Porto on Matchday 1 to go with their perfect league start. PSG beat Slovan Bratislava 6-1 but sit sixth in Ligue 1, and L’Équipe reports that Senny Mayulu will miss a month. Foden returns, because domestic bans do not apply in Europe. PSG won the last meeting 4-2 in January 2025. Kick-off: Wednesday 14 October, 8:00pm.

Roma vs Real Madrid prediction: Real Madrid win (Low)

Roma top Serie A on goal difference, unbeaten with 14 goals scored and three conceded. Gian Piero Gasperini says Roma will not risk Bryan Cristante (knee) against Como or Real Madrid. The market rates Madrid a 50% chance, but we drop the pick to Low because of Madrid’s patched defence and Roma’s form. Kick-off: Wednesday 14 October, 8:00pm.

How Accurate Were Last Week’s Predictions?

This is the first edition of our weekly predictions page, so no earlier week exists to grade yet. We will grade the 10 picks above after the last game on 14 October and add the result to this table next Monday, misses included.

Each week we also report hit rates by confidence level. If High picks do not land clearly more often than Low ones, our rules need fixing. Before this page launched, our England vs Spain prediction leaned towards “a draw or a one-goal Spain win”; Spain won 3-2, so the lean landed, but our shortlisted scorelines missed. Single-match previews such as Newcastle vs Crystal Palace and our Belgium league predictions join the same log. Tip brands that show only winners hide the real picture, as our 8xbet vs King of Correct Score comparison explains, and our zero-risk football prediction guide lists the warning signs.

How Should You Use These Predictions on 8xbet?

FAQs

Can AI make a correct football prediction?

AI models process form, expected goals, injuries and odds faster than any person. They cannot foresee a red card, a goalkeeping error or a late fitness test, so they still miss often. Judge an AI tool by a dated, public record that covers hundreds of picks, losses included.

When should I check a football prediction before kick-off?

Check twice: after the managers’ press conferences and again about an hour before kick-off, when clubs publish their starting line-ups.

What does draw no bet mean?

Draw no bet removes the draw from a match result bet. If your team wins, you collect; if the match ends level, the bookmaker returns your stake; if your team loses, you lose it. The odds run shorter than a straight win bet, which makes the market a common choice for Low-confidence picks.

Why do football odds change before kick-off?

Bookmakers move prices when team news breaks and when large sums land on one side. Lengthening odds often follow bad news, while shortening odds can follow a key player’s return. If the price at kick-off sits shorter than the price you took, you beat the market, whatever the result.
