Premier League Table 2024/25 Top 10
The 2024/25 top 10 was Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford. Two races inside that group shaped the table:
- The fight for fifth. Newcastle, Villa and Forest were separated by one point (66, 66, 65). Fifth place was worth a Champions League spot because English clubs earned an extra place through UEFA’s European performance ranking.
- Forest’s surprise season. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side finished seventh on 65 points and ended up in the Europa League.
- Bournemouth and Brentford level on 56. Bournemouth took ninth on goal difference (+12 to +9), while Brentford scored 66 goals, as many as Brighton in eighth.

European Qualification From the 2024/25 Table
European places did not follow league position alone, because the three cup competitions changed the picture:
- Tottenham (17th) – Champions League. Spurs beat Manchester United 1–0 in the Europa League final in Bilbao on 21 May 2025, and the winners get a Champions League place.
- Crystal Palace (12th) – Conference League play-off. Palace beat Manchester City 1–0 in the FA Cup final on 17 May 2025, which normally earns a Europa League place. UEFA moved them down to the Conference League because of multi-club ownership rules, and their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport failed.
- Nottingham Forest (7th) – Europa League. Forest took Palace’s Europa League place.
- Newcastle (5th) – Champions League. Newcastle won the EFL Cup, beating Liverpool 2–1 on 16 March 2025, but already had a Champions League place through the league.

Liverpool Champions: Slot’s Debut Season and Salah’s Record Year
Arne Slot replaced Jürgen Klopp in the summer of 2024 and won the title in his first season in English football. Liverpool lost only four league games, and scored 86 goals, the most in the division.
Mohamed Salah was the decisive player. He scored 29 goals and made 18 assists, which gave him both the Golden Boot and the Playmaker award. His 47 goal involvements equalled the Premier League record set by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer, who did it in 42-game seasons, so Salah set a new record for a 38-game season. He finished six goals ahead of Alexander Isak (23) and six assists ahead of Jacob Murphy (12), according to the Premier League. Salah was also named Player of the Season.

Relegation: All Three Promoted Clubs Went Down
For the second season in a row, all three promoted teams were relegated. Southampton finished on 12 points with only two wins all season. Ipswich Town won four games and finished on 22 points, and Leicester City won six for 25 points. The three clubs conceded 248 goals between them.
The gap to safety was large. Wolves in 16th finished 17 points above Leicester, and even Tottenham in 17th were 13 points clear.

- Status columns: European places depend on league position and cup winners, so always check the notes, as with Spurs and Palace in 2024/25.
